photo friday: red

Posted by on September 7, 2012

There isn’t much red in my home, but when I started looking I found some. One pretty gerbera daisy which is dying; the dress on a painted blonde girl, painted by my grandmother (and my favorite of all her paintings), which I still need to find a place for on a wall; a beat up kids’ chair which gets dragged to different locations of our house every single day; and a horribly messy kitchen counter, which is waiting for me when I come back from taking the girls to school in the morning, and, as I type this, is still waiting for me. Only now it is time to go pick up Elsa. There were some other corners of my home containing red, but they were too messy to share.

These are fun and cheery, Julia! Especially that first one – my for sure favorite. And I love that painting of the girl with the red dress. Of course your grandma was talented and creative. Being ever so fond of her granddaughter's talents, I would have never assumed otherwise.

Nice, Julia. I really like them all. Such wonderful corners of your new home.

I like the top one best too. I like to see homes in a state of artistic, lived-in dishevelment, even though I'm not so good at posting photos of my own home in that state…

And I like that painting too!
